Mission: To serve all, live awesomely, & set minds on fire... change your life in 5 to 10 minutes per day

Invest 5-10 minutes daily to dramatically improve the quality of your life!!

Fitness! Abundance! Happiness! Education, entertainment, empowerment, self-actualization; certainty, variety, significance, contribution, connection, growth: I've spent more than 20 years searching for the best information on these subjects. This blog is designed to be a handle for anyone to more easily benefit from the amazing information & technologies that I have found.

Why?  Because Simon Sinek, I believe we all should & have the capacity to live awesomely!! So, if you are interested in exploring the greatest ideas in the history of the civilization that pertain to living awesomely, then this blog is for you.

How does one best organize a growth program?  Since there are too many muscles to work at any one time, many bodybuilders utilize various "training splits" where they rotate between muscle groups.  Instead of training each muscle each day, they might train chest/triceps the first day, back/biceps the next day, legs/abs the next day, etc.  Since there are so many different areas of self-improvement, I'd like to propose a similar training program where people invest 5-10 minutes each day focusing on a different area of self-actualization.

Abraham Maslow revolutionized the field of psychology with his book Toward a Psychology of Being. In the book, Maslow said, "It is as if Freud supplied us with the sick half of Psychology."  Rather than researching how to remove phobias, Maslow constructed a "Hierarchy of Needs" that leads progressively to a peak state of awesomeness he called Self Actualization:

Physiological needs
Safety needs
Love needs
Esteem needs
Self-Actualization

Tony Robbins does not have a PhD, but he has been very influential in the field of psychology. Rather than using a set order of needs, as Maslow did, Robbins says (in his TED Talk among other places) that humans have 6 human needs:

Certainty
Variety
Significance
Connection
Growth
Contribution

I believe the Nobel Prize competition is also an interesting place to find a list of human needs. While the Nobel Prize winners may be controversial from time to time, the category titles themselves seem to be static & thus indicative of a system that leads systematically to more awesomeness. Consider the Nobel Prize categories:

Physics
Physiology
Chemistry
Literature
Economics
Peace

What do these terms mean?  Well, here are my perverted definitions.

Physics: improving processes
Physiology: super health & fitness
Chemistry: turning ordinary metal into gold
Literature: entertainment, adventure
Economics: scarce resources unlimited desires
Peace: managing tension harmoniously

With all of these awesome living systems in mind, I have constructed a rotation I like to call the Self Actualization Training Split. By rotating through these categories on a regular basis, I believe we can systematically set our minds on fire & make our lives increasingly more awesome:

Prosperity: gratitude
Financial: optimizing resources
Physical: growth, renewal
Adventure: safety, security
Social: don't be a big jerk head
Self-Actualization: designing tombstones

So, how can we improve the quality of your life in 5-10 minutes per day?
I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and an MBA in Project Management.  I've taken the Black Belt Course in Lean Six Sigma.  I was trained as a Certified Personal Trainer.  I've competed as a bodybuilder.  I've read hundreds of books on these subjects.  I don't claim to be the greatest teacher/mentor/coach ever, but by standing on the shoulders of giants, I have worked to create simple exercises to generate growth in each area of Self-Actualization.  If you invest 5-10 minutes each day reading and earnestly thinking about the questions in the Self Actualization Training Split, you will find yourself finding answers that will help you dramatically improving the quality of your life.

I have also created 4 acronyms to make the civilization's best advice easier to remember: FITFANTASY, RESILIENT, EXPLOITS, & DECA.  This blog will therefore explore & share the best valuable entertaining information in the history of the civilization: in hopes that the process helps us all live more awesomely!! Enjoy.
